Four Seasons with Andrew Marc - Polyvore Contest
Well, I didn't know if I'd be able to get a set done for this contest or not. I started building a couple sets but lost focus and had no inspiration. I'd pretty much resigned myself to not making an entry for this one at all. But, just like most things, as soon as you stop trying and just allow things to be..... it happens, and this morning I saw the dress to build a set around. OK, granted the dress isn't Andrew Marc it's Maxmara, but it is EXACTLY what I was waiting for to inspire me. It is a lovely gathered printed silk dress which is a perfect day-to-evening dress! The neutral to grey-black tones of the dress paired really well with the Andrew Marc Advertising campaign, so I just knew this would work out for me! Andrew Marc Contest
There are three days left in the Andrew Marc contest on Polyvore and only 673 entries this far. I started a set for this contest the other day but so far have not finished it. Here are some of my faves in the contest:

There are a couple new contest running over on Polyvore. The JCPenny/American Living contest only has 342 entries so far with five days left. I haven't made a set for this one yet. I've looked through some so far and really love this set by hileeery.
Juicy Couture - Bags of Couture Contest
After last week, it probably sounds greedy to say I really want to win a Juicy Couture handbag, but I do. This bright pink one is my favorite, although I don't have a clue what I'd wear with it.

Show Her Some Love Contest
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - My life has been personally effected by breast cancer as one of my sisters has battled breast cancer since the Summer of 2009. I made a set dedicated to my sister Gayle and entered it into the 'Show Her Some Love' contest at Polyvore. The set placed 2nd out of 10 winning spots. I was honored to have been chosen by Joanne Teichman, Breast Cancer Survivor & fellow Polyvore member. Joanne is the owner of jewelry store YLANG | 23 and was the Featured Style Expert and contest judge. She picked 10 sets as winners to be featured on Ylang23.com and the Stand Up To Cancer Facebook page. Joanne not only sponsored this contest but also donated $10,000 on behalf of the entire Polyvore community. Thank you Joanne, you are truly a PolyStar!!
L’Oréal Paris Backstage Beauty Secrets Contest
On Thursday I was notified that my set 'I Tulle Love You' had placed 6th (out of ten) in the 'L'Oreal Backstage Secrets' contest. I will be receiving five of their beautiful eye shadow duos! Check back as I'll be posting pictures of the eye shadows when they arrive.
Catwalk to the Sidewalk with Maybelline Contest
This past week was unbelievable!! I have never had a luckier week. My Maybelline set won 2nd place, and I will be receiving A Year’s Worth of Maybelline New York makeup in an artist case. Definitely check back for pics, I'll post them as soon as the makeup and case arrives.
Talbots... Who Knew? Contest
Monday I found out I'd won the Talbots Who Knew? contest. I was completely shocked, and extremely excited. Visualize a crazed looking Torilink screaming and clapping and running around the house. Yep, I was that happy. lol
I've placed in a few site wide contests in the past, but I'd only ever won first place in one. I won first place in the Louboutin Love (set below) contest waaaayyyy back two years ago -- way before they started giving out any great prizes. So although I had actually won a contest before - I'd never won the grand prize in any contests before.
I've also placed in many contests, but most of those win's didn't come with monetary prizes either. I placed 7th out of 11 places in the 'Fashion Capitals' two years ago.
Last winter I won 16th place out of 20 in the 'Katy Perry Unplugged' contest with this set and won a few posters of Katy Perry.
Around the same time frame, I won 8th place out of 23 in the 'Be Dazzling with Benefit Cosmetics' contest. I won a $50 gift card for Benefit Cosmetics. Until this past week, the $50 of Benefit cosmetics was the biggest prize I'd ever won. Now you know why I was jumping up and down and screaming like I was on The Price Is Right! lol

I joined Polyvore two years ago! Time goes by so fast, it just doesn't seem like its been that long. Making sets is probably one of my top five things to do with my time... right after bathing, eating, and a couple other private matters I'll not discuss farther. I know I'm not alone, its been awesome to be a part of the fabulous community of stylists, artists, and dreamers its become. This blog is meant to become an extension of my polyvore experience. I hope to discuss my thoughts about trends, style, contests, contact's sets, and more. Hope you'll visit often and comment with your own thoughts, ideas, and inspirations.
